This was my first time shooting a Peace Arch State Park wedding, and it is quite a charming little venue. The day-use building is called The American Kitchen and houses about 100 people. As you walk out on the grounds, you have a view of Semiahmoo Bay and the islands. There is also a view of the 67 foot tall Peace Arch, which was dedicated in 1921 and was built to commemorate the lasting peace between the United States and Canada. There is an abundance of flowers on the grounds, and many trees, but the Canadian portion of the International Park is teeming with flowers and is perfectly landscaped.
The guys were having so much fun with the dinosaurs, that I decided to include them in their photos….
Isn’t she gorgeous?
The first look is always so exciting! Seeing each other for the first time can be pretty emotional at times. All the wedding jitters seem to dissipate once the bride and groom are reunited and can face the day together….
Emily and Joe chose a Harry Potter theme for their reception. The centerpieces on the tables that they created themselves were named after the houses in the Harry Potter series. They did a great job on the centerpieces and added a succulent to take home for each guest as favors.
And a big high five to congratulate each other!
