It is such a joy to photograph high school seniors, knowing that they are poised to take on the world as soon as they are handed their diploma! Ferndale High School seniors are dear to my heart, because that is our stomping grounds, and where my son graduated. High school seniors are so full of life, and expectations, and I can remember how it felt to feel that way…. We did some beautiful photos at a nearby willow tree, which always make for a beautiful backdrop. Korianne’s boyfriend, Taylor, was there for some of the shoot, so we were able to include him in several of her photos. They are a really cute couple! And we got some very adorable shots of the two of them! We then headed down to Sandy Point, so that we could capture some shots along the beach while we were waiting for the sun to set. It was a spectacular sunset! We got some really gorgeous sunset photo of Kori, and even had a kayaker that rowed into my camera frame for a few shots. Kori is contemplating her choices for her life after graduating, and I wish her all the best for her life after graduation!

We headed out to Sandy Point to get some great photos on the beach with the Strait of Georgia in the background. Then I captured some beautiful sunset photos, as the sun began to drop…..

The best part of being a high school senior photographer, is knowing what an exciting experience it is for these graduates, knowing that they are ready to embark on the greatest adventure of their lives. The whole world is waiting for them, and it is an honor for me to be able to document part of that journey for them. Rachel is a Bellingham High School senior, ready to embark on her adventure. Birch Bay State Park is such a beautiful park, and we have the advantage of being able to photograph in both the woods and paths up above, and then the beach with the water as a backdrop down below. There is a trail leading down to the beach with a bridge that crosses a creek. There is a lot of driftwood on the beach, and if you wait long enough, you can witness a beautiful sunset! We had a lot of fun during this shoot, and her photos turned out beautifully! I want to congratulate her on her graduation, and wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors!

I have always loved photographing a wedding near the water! There is no denying that the coastline makes a beautiful backdrop for Bellingham wedding photography, especially with a view of the islands in the background. Erin and her bridesmaids started the day at the Chrysalis Inn & Spa. Their rooms are the perfect spot for getting ready before the ceremony of a Bellingham wedding, with a wonderful view of the waterfront. After we finished with all of the getting ready photos, we walked down to Taylor Dock where Ben was waiting for their first look. This is always such a special moment! I captured lots of beautiful photos of the two of them with Bellingham Bay in the background. We then proceeded to Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park where their wedding was being held. Arriving at the ceremony venue for this Bellingham wedding, I could see all of the work that the two of them had put into the details of their wedding. There were many handmade signs and hand-crafted items that made this event all their own. When doing photos of the bridal party, we had to include a little football scrimmage, as they and their friends are all avid Seahawk fans, and have their own fantasy football league! The ceremony was beautiful as they recited their own vows and included a tree-planting as part of their ceremony. Afterwards, the reception was in full swing, with delicious food by Mosaic Catering, and lots of dancing. At the end of the evening we captured a few sunset shots of the bride & groom on the water, which is one of my favorite parts of the day. Thanks so much, Erin & Ben, for letting me be a part of your special day!
